Why it's good if your blog isn't very popular?

If your blog isn't very popular, there's probably one good thing that comes out of it. That good thing is you don't have to fight against as much comment spam as the more popular bloggers.

Because there aren't that many backlinks to your blog and because your blog doesn't rank high on searches, the spammers are less likely to find it. It's true they are still finding it sometimes. Especially if your blog is hosted for instance by WordPress or Blogger (Google), there's more spam on the way.

Yes, even for us less known ones there are those days when the spam bots are having a big party over the comments. As they do that, they are eating your bandwidth, slow your site down and do a hefty mess all over the place.

Jotain hyvääkin siinä voi olla, jos blogi ei ole kovinkaan suosittu. Yksi hyvä juttu on, että roskakommenttien määrä on todennäköisesti pienempi kuin suositummissa blogeissa. En väitä, etteikö spämmiä silti tulisi, mutta varmasti paljon vähemmän kuitenkin.
