Why Weekly Wrapups?

14.05.2012 - 17:29

A friend on Twitter pointed out today that I've gotten on the "weekly reporting bandwagon" with my Weekly Wrapups. So I wanted to tell why I got on that bandwagon.

My blog isn't very busy currently. I'm working on changing that, but so far I'm writing as often as I feel like it. And I don't feel like it that much.

And my blog isn't that popular (as my mom likes to point out all the time). Part of the reason is I'm not very good in making a fuzz about myself and what I do.

Therefore most of my Twitter followers and Facebook friends (and "friends") tend to miss my blog posts. As they miss my Tweets and my status updates.

To make sure at least some of them actually remember the tasselflower blog I started the wrapups. And it works. Not much, but it works nevertheless.

The problem with all the online stuff these days is the fact that there's just too much going on. Too many blogs, too many blog posts, too many Tweets, too many status updates, too many, too much.

It's hard to keep up on all of it. The noise is blocking most of the signal. And in order to get the signal out, we must get noisier and noisier. It's a loop.

I don't really want to add to the noise, but I want to get my signal out. I just have as much or even more to say than most of the noisemakers around.

I'm also struggling with how to step up on my blogvisits. It's so hard, isn't it?
I'm not really a loud person either and I lack a little selfconfidence.
Hopefully you'll figure out what workst for you!
(oh, and if you found it, let me know!)

Yes, it's all really hard. Especially to the types like us, who don't have excessive amounts of self confidence. I'll let you know if I find the perfect solution.

Right now I can tell you this much: Doing your own thing is good. Doing your own thing and including others is better. Get what I mean? :)
